Les retombées de la bourde des commissaires des courses, qui ont inversé les résultats de la 3e course de la 14e journée, sont connues au niveau des compagnies de Tote.
«Il faut savoir que les remboursements ne concernent que deux types de paris : l’Exacta et le Quarté. Nous avions un joueur qui avait parié sur Exacta Box cinq fois et nous l’avons remboursé. Et nous avons aussi un parieur à qui nous devons encore Rs 699 pour le Quarté, car il ne s’est pas encore manifesté », explique Guillaume Hardy, directeur d’Automatic Systems Limited (ASL), qui gère le Supertote. De son côté, Totelepep aura à rembourser Rs 2 000. Ce qui fait un total de Rs 12 699 pour les deux compagnies de Totalisator à Maurice.
On se rappelle qu’après avoir promu Count Emmanuale dans la 3e course, les résultats annoncés par le MTC étaient: 1er Count Emmanuale ; 2e Lucky Valentine ; 3e Colour Of Courage (4-1-5). Or, le MTC a fait savoir via un communiqué que ce n’est pas les commissaires qui, au fait, avaient décidé les résultats suivants : 1er Count Emmanuale ; 2e Colour Of Courage ; 3e Lucky Valentine (4-5-1). Ensuite, le MTC a émis un communiqué stipulant que : « As such the official result is maintained, however the MTC wishes to inform the public that the exotic bets affected by this error will be refunded by the MTC through the Tote companies. Members of the public who have placed exotic bets with respect to the above two horses are invited to call upon the Customer Service Department of the Tote companies with their ticket for payment as from Tuesday morning. In case the ticket has been discarded, they should bring proof of the bet value, time and place at which the bet was taken. The MTC wishes to apologise for the inconvenience caused ».
La GRA a convoqué le MTC, mercredi, pour une réunion à ce sujet. Jeenarain Soobagrah, (président), Benoît Halbwachs (General manager) et Stéphane de Chalain (Chief Stipe) ont représenté le MTC. à l’issue de la rencontre, la GRA a clairement fait savoir au MTC de s’assurer qu’elle soit avertie au préalable, de toute décision touchant aux paris, avant de l’annoncer officiellement.
Par ailleurs, suite à cette réunion, le MTC a dit attendre les relevés des compagnies de Tote, SMS Pariaz et de South African Tote, avant d’aller de l’avant avec le déboursement. Ces deux compagnies ont été ‘oubliées’ dans le communiqué initial du MTC. Et, une ‘updcated version’ de ce communiqué a été émise où on a ajouté « As for SMS Pariaz, accounts will be credited accordingly for winning clients ».
Reste à savoir quels sont les montants que devront payer SMS Pariaz et le South African Tote. Tout cela s’ajoutera aux comptes déjà déficitaires du MTC.
L’affaire Colour Of Courage : Différence dans les rapports intérimaire et officiel
L’’enquête menant à la victoire sur tapis vert de Count Emmanuale a été bouclée, samedi dernier, après la 3e course. Ensuite, les commissaires de courses ont sanctionné le jockey Hoolash pour sa monte sur Colour of Courage. Ce qui fait que l’Interim Report des commissaires de courses était définitive pour cette course. Mais on constate une différence flagrante entre « l’interim report » émis samedi et le « stipe’s report » publié mercredi.
On a ajouté la phrase : « …neither jockey Hoolash nor jockey Bhaugeerothee had straightened their mounts when they shifted in, which resulted in… ». Cette ligne vient contredire ce qui avait été écrit samedi, soit que : « Passing the 100 metres, jockey Hoolash straightened Colour Of Courage with the latter running on a straight course over the concluding stages ».
Which is which ? Et pourquoi ce changement ?
