10 jours. C’est le temps qu’a pris le Mauritius Turf Club pour répondre partiellement à la correspondance de la Gambling Regulatory Authority en date du 19 mars 2021. La réponse a trait au statut de son président, Jean Michel Giraud. Ce dernier n’est une ‘Politically Exposed Person’ (PEP) dit la lettre envoyée à l’autorité hippique.
Le MTC doit a présent comnuniquer sur d’autres détails demandés par la GRA dans sa lettre du 19 mars, notamment les 5 points suivants concernant sa compagnie subsidiaire, la Mauritius Turf Club Sports and Leisure Ltd :
(i) has the MTC made arrangements for MTCSL to use the infrastructure of the MTC, including the racetrack, the premises in Port Louis (including the stables) and the Guy Desmarais Centre in Floréal for MTCSL to organise racing, trackwork and housing of horses?
(ii) has the MTC/MTCSL made arrangements for trainers, assistant trainers, stable supervisors and jockeys to be licensed by MTCSL rather than by the MTC?
(iii) Has the MTC made arrangements for MTCSL to control its website, or another website? You are reminded that, under the GRA Directions No. 1 of 2021, there are a number of obligations for the horse-racing organiser to make publications on its website. If MTCSL does not have a website, then it will not be able to comply with the legal obligations of a horse-racing organiser. If MTCSL will not use the existing website of MTC, please advise the website address of MTCSL urgently; and
(iv) have all other arrangements not listed above but which are necessary been made so as to ensure that MTCSL can fulfil all its obligations as a horse-racing organiser?
Une autre question a trait aux procédures légales entourant les transferts des employés du MTC au MTCSL. Des réponses simples et directes qui devraient faire accélérer les procédures pour l’obtention d’un permis d’organiser les courses par la MTCSL. La date du 24 avril a été identifiée par la MTCSL pour un possible coup d’envoi de la saison à huis clos.
