Dimanche à Rodrigues, le Dr Bernard Henry Bapriste et Antoinette Milazar, ont été les grands lauréats de la Rodrigues Sports Award. Ils ont été élus respectivement sportif et sportive de l’année.
Médaillé de bronze au concours du poids aux derniers jeux de la Francophonie, en Côte d’Ivoire, en juillet dernier, le Dr Bernard Henry Baptiste, a été sans surprise élu sportif de l’année. Chez les dames, c’est l’infatigable marathonienne Antoinette Milazar qui a été sacrée.
Lors de la soirée de remise des prix, c’est l’athlétisme qui s’est taillé la part du lion. En effet, en plus du titre de sportif et sportive de l’année, huit autres titres sont tombés pour cette discipline. Les lauréats en athlétisme sont les handisportifs Brigila Clair et Eddy Capdor, Stacy Albert (sportive la plus prometteuse de l’année chez les 14 ans), Desjardin Prosper et Anne Loa Léopold (sportifs les plus prometteurs de l’année), l’équipe des moins de 16 ans du relais 4x100m, ainsi que Lilianne Potiron et Alexandre Gentil (sportifs juniors de l’année).
